FAQ for the Bi-Polar Fence

[Index][Next]

7 How many connection cables (#28M and #28V) do you need for each strand of tape?

8 How to cross under the gate
Run the 2 connecting cables through a buried garden hose or a pipe conduit, then reset the connections and the Bi-Polar tape in the tensioners #9bl on the other side of the gate

9 Can you connect Bi-Polar fencing to a existing traditionally grounded Horseguard fence?
If the Bi-Polar tape is used as a traditional tape with traditional accessories yes you can, but to fully benefit from Bi-Polar Fencing’s advantages, why not set one Bi-Polar paddock and hook it to different charger (any low impedance will ). That way you’ll be guaranteed that at least one of your paddocks will work perfectly no matter what the grounding conditions are…

10 Can the Bi-Polar be a year-round Fence?
Absolutely, whatever the conditions of the ground are, the horse will get zapped and learn to respect the fence.

11 Testing the Bi-Polar Fence
Horseguard fence tester has a series of lights that will light up when holding it to the fence. Touch with the small pike the wires on top of the tape and touch with the ground probe the wires on the bottom of the tape. The indicator will display the voltage running through the tape.

12 Will you be offering the bipolar fencing in less 1640 ft?
We offer 2 size spools in Bi-Polar now. One 1640 ft and one 320ft. We are also working on a new gate handle, a bi-polar splicer buckle and a new extender.

13 Do you have any other connecting option anywhere on the Bi-Polar fence line?
Yes, we have stainless steel connecting plates (#2BC8) specially adapted to our insulator. They allow you to connect the fence without using the tensioners #9bl and make the connections very easy, above all after when you need to reconnect the strands after a gate.
